Position Purpose

The Sr. Plant Ops Finance Analyst will support the Operations Organization in all aspects of facility management. The position is highly visible to management and senior management and is a fundamental contributor to OPS Fin team. The role performs key processes such as month end closure, forecasts, and budgets. He / She will:


  • Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) financial and operating reports, report packages, bridges and analyses
  • Proactively drive ideas for analysis, cost savings and other efficiencies by presenting analysis to management and actively collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Recommend business solutions to improve plant operations efficiencies
  • Drive continuous process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities through automation, system enhancements, data quality, consolidation, and quality improvement
  • Prepare ad-hoc management analyses and create financial models 


Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with the Plant Ops Team to develop solutions that meet the customer’s needs and remains cost effective for CHEP
  • Interface with all levels of management (including CFO and SVP of Supply Chain) to articulate proposal specifics and obtain approval
  • Analyze complex data sets
  • Understand underlying data and report structures
  • Work cross-functionally to obtain and interpret data
  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations for cost out solutions
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve operational and financial processes



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • MBA preferred



  • 3 - 5 years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Operations and CHEP specific experience a plus
  • Excellent problem solving and quantitative analysis skills
  • In depth experience with financial models
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills


Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (array formulas - VBA and macros preferred)
  • Inquisitive and challenging status quo 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to develop and understand complicated financial analyses
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
