Position Purpose

The Marketing and Communications Director is responsible for the ongoing development, planning, execution, and performance of all internal and external marketing and communications. Responsibilities include public relations, advertising, company website, trade shows and events, customer and market research, and sales support through the development of marketing collateral, customer-specific support materials, and customer communications.


Major/Key Accountabilities


  • Develop and execute marketing/communications plan within approved budget and monitor ROI with respect to stated project goals (financial return, customer feedback, etc.)
  • Direct production of promotional items, stationery, advertisements, trade show booths, and other branded communications
  • Develop and manage sales support materials, including presentations, brochures and sell sheets, customer needs upon request
  • Produce and/or coordinate production of social media, content marketing and blog
  • Plan and write content for newsletters, press releases, speaking engagements, websites, and internal announcements
  • Serve as company Media Contact; nurture relationships with trade media
  • Support other functional groups by providing communications support as requested

Trade Shows and Events:

  • Work with leadership team to develop and manage budget and schedule for internal and external events, including trade shows
  • Monitor and assess ROI of trade shows and conferences and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee development of theme/concept and communications for events and trade shows
  • Plan and execute internal events as needed
  • Direct event vendors (venues, production, A/V, speakers)

Customer and Market Research:

  • Manages market research as necessary; determines requirements, selects vendors, and provides leadership on projects
  • Manage customer satisfaction research process and other feedback loops

 Marketing Operations:

  • Develop annual marketing budget for executive approval
  • Monitor spend and ensure adherence to budget
  • Negotiate marketing and event supplier contracts and monitor supplier performance to SLAs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, business, or related field required



  • 7+ years in a related communications or marketing role

  • Knowledge of warehousing, supply chain, or packaging industries
  • Able to interact effectively with personnel at all levels and in all disciplines from Executive level down, internally and externally. Developing strong internal networks is essential
