Position Purpose

  • Assist in the creation, update and implementation of HSE programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in GAP Audits as needed and assist site locations with the development of their safety systems/corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development of engagement initiatives (e.g. Award programs, Zero Harm Week).
  • Oversee environmental data collection processes to monitor and ensure compliance with permits and registrations.
  • Assist with requests associated with sustainability efforts (e.g. Third-party assessments, Questionnaires from vendors and customers).
  • Act as a resource for the sharing of regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping of OSHA Recordable cases, as well as compliance with the OSHA’s new Injury Tracking Application.
  • Review HSE concerns, Zero Harm committee recommendations, and audits to help ensure closure of identified issues.
  • Assist and oversee with the development of training materials to support HSE systems.
  • Assist with timely processing of purchase orders and invoices for HSE projects and regulatory fees.
  • Other daily administrative and reporting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional Certification

 

Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of Health, Safety and Environmental  Experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ANSI and NIOSH standards and guidance
  • Ability to build good relationships with plant level and corporate personnel
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and Internet).

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work both within a team environment and independently to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to maintain demanding timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
  • Bi-Lingual (English – Spanish) preferred but not required.
