Position Purpose

Responsible to develop, manage, and control data measurement processes that will allow the CHEP USA commercial teams to better understand key performance measurements. Responsible for development and implementation of proactive account management tools and programs that will help deliver value to CHEP and Customers. Responsible for identifying and executing upon management’s business intelligence needs, and supporting key strategic initiatives related to our customer base and internal business processes.  Supervise the development of all commercial QlikView applications.  Overall, this position will be responsible for providing the reporting and analytics support to the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to drive customer retention and growth.  Prioritize diverse and competing business requests.

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sophisticated program developers and analysts; responsible for developing talent, hiring, and performance management

  • Oversee the system development life cycle for all commercial QlikView applications

  • Accept rapidly changing priorities and think strategically to align team to deliver business needs as they develop while maintaining a balanced sense of direction for the team

  • Establish and execute a vision and  strategy for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to key business stakeholders

  • Identify intelligence needs of each team through communications with key leaders; gather information for project-related research, and produce thorough analysis as needed

  • Spearhead the development and execution of Business Intelligence tools and processes with a goal of a more predictive, customer-focused organization

  • Successfully navigate through a large organization to effectively achieve solutions to challenging problems. The CHEP environment demands the ability to work with cross-functionally to negotiate support and mutual progress towards goals

  • Develop and deploy standardized reporting tools to minimize administrative time across the business while maximizing employee effectiveness

  • Leverage relationships across regions and business groups to drive value where appropriate

  • High level of energy, enthusiasm, and organizational agility.  Must be able to motivate the team when extremely challenging results are demanded with limited support, systems, or infrastructure

  • Actively think outside of normal work processes to develop solutions on the fly.  Willing and able to work in an undefined space and role to help continually guide and deliver on business results. 

  • Responsible for process compliance to ensure tasks follow the guidelines / SOPs set by CHEP

  • Ensure the timely completion of all Sales / Participation Level CHEPMatch requests so Sales and Finance can complete the pricing process

  • Prioritize diverse and competing business requests.

  • Meet/surpass the SLA for all ad hoc requests

  • Meet/surpass the SLA for Sales CHEPMatch

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field or four years’ experience in an equivalent role               

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Project management

  • SQL, QlikView or similar certification

  • MBA

  • People manager experience

 

Experience

  • People leadership; leading a team of developers and/or analysts

  • Building and motivating effective teams

  • Project management experience; emphasis on the system development life cycle

  • Collaborating cross functionally for problem resolution, process improvements, and projects

  • Long-term strategic planning with emphasis on execution and results

  • Capable of enhancing or developing processes and developing reports, scorecards, and dashboards

  • Presenting to groups such as Internal and External Customers

 

Skills and Knowledge   

  • Working knowledge of CHEP: Customer Service, Sales, Invoicing, Transaction Controls, and Stock Audit processes

  • Must be able to function effectively in a cross-functional and high-activity environment

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills

  • Capability to create SOPs, work instructions, dashboards, and scorecards

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure to quickly develop and execute a plan with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

  • Able to present progress, findings, status, risks, next steps and recommendations at Director and Executive levels

  • killed in computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office applications (advanced skills in Excel); advanced SAP, BW, and Siebel or CRM background; familiar with QlikView use; familiar with Microsoft DQS
