INTERNSHIP – Global IT Program Management Office (PMO)

Anticipated Duration and Hours:
This internship will commence in May 2018, and will last approximately 3 months. Based upon business need, if both the leader and student are agreeable, the internship may be extended. Hours to be worked per week are 40.

Skills / prior experience required:
• Experience and skills can be varied. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of IT and project delivery. The candidate will collaborate with IT Project Management professionals on project delivery and project metrics; doing the right things, the right way. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 2016 a plus but not required. Knowledge or experience of data visualization capabilities in tools such as Microsoft Power BI is preferred.

Project Objective / Business Justification:
The objective of this opportunity will be to leverage current educational content in real world scenarios in terms of IT project delivery and project metrics. There are two key areas of focus:
1. Working with leadership to administer the IT OneProject system (a Project and Portfolio Management - PPM tool), and create metrics and vizualizations leveraging the Microsoft Office 365 Power BI Suite with a SharePoint presentation layer.
2. Collaborating with the IT Process and Change Management Team focusing on processes for resource management and governance, and on capability improvements within the project and portfolio management (PPM) tool, and on PMO administration.

The work brings exposure to the PMO methodology for project management, to collaboration between IT & its Customers, and to interactions between IT and 3rd party partners. The ideal candidate will engage with Brambles employees on IT projects as an equal contributing member, and will develop skills & techniques directly applicable to their careers.

Time will be allocated to coaching & mentoring, answering questions, listening, and relationship building. They will be given the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. They will learn how to apply critical thinking skills in problem identification and data analysis, and in recognizing the implications of decisions.
