Position Purpose

Responsible for leadership of Reverse Logistics Coordinators and Reverse Logistics Merchandisers to execute collection of CHEP assets from retail store locations.  Proactively manages cross-functional relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure a collaborative approach to providing world class customer service at optimal cost.  Resolves challenges that create interference in the on-boarding and execution of new Reverse Logistics programs.


Major/Key Accountabilities       

  • Develop & implement reverse logistics solutions & strategies as both a project leader and individual contributor

  • Coach and mentor Reverse Logistics Fleet Coordinators to high standards of performance in their assigned market areas

  • Coach and mentor Reverse Logistics Merchandisers to high standards of performance and safe driving and operation of CHEP vehicles

  • Identify additional uses for CHEP equipment in order to fully utilize the available capacity of the fleet.

  • Partner with CHEP Transportation and CHEP Asset Recovery to manage carrier base to ensure consistent customer service and on-time delivery.

  • Identify KPIs appropriate to measure program health and partner with appropriate internal and external partners to develop robust dashboard

  • Identify and action continuous improvement opportunities for CHEP Merchandisers and customer locations in order to improve quality of service, financial performance and other KPIs.

  • Ensure all Merchandisers and customers are aware of CHEP Zero Harm expectations and procedures and that all these expectations are followed during collections/deliveries.

  • Own relationships with equipment providers and partner with procurement partners to ensure trucks and lift equipment are the right tool for the job at the right price



Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven ability to deliver results over both short-term and long-term timeframes needed.

  • Experience identifying continuous improvement and growth opportunities required.

  • Experience leading teams of route sales personnel or other fleet operations

  • Experience in route planning and optimization

  • Experience coordinating or working with multiple customer-facing employees required.

  • Experience creating, generating and communicating performance reports required.

  • B2B Customer-service and/or 3PL transportation management experience preferred.

  • Experience coordinating the planning and leading implementation of new processes preferred.

  • Transportation network planning ideal.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Ability to create a strategic plan

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Able to identify and communicate issues to leadership.

  • Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT Regulations required

  • Proficiency with one or more types of routing software preferred.
