Position Purpose

Responsible for day to day operations of Asset Recovery Logistics and Field Team within assigned region to ensure collections of all CHEP owned equipment in the possession of non-participants. Establishes objectives for annual performance targets for team members. Oversees the day to day operations of the Asset Recovery Representatives and the operations within their territories. Coordinates Logistics team efforts for overall efficient operations. Develops team members for future career opportunities within the organization. Monitors fleet operation to meet FMCSA guidelines.


Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Monitors collection processes within assigned territory to ensure adherence to Asset Recovery guidelines.

  • Provides hardware and process support to field managers and their teams.

  • Ensures every Representative works to maximize footprint and account utilization.

  • Works with Logistics to ensure on time collections

  • Manages transportation costs according to the lowest cost carrier.

  • Review transport and other open issues daily

  • Monitors all aspects of safety within their territory

  • Sits down with employees and develops a career plan.

  • Tracks weekly collections



  • Cost savings initiatives

  • DOT, CSA & Safety targets

  • Department Flow through Rate

  • Direct report development

  • Regional Budget

  • Recycler Volumes



  • Location: Position will ideally be based in Texas, but must be based within close to major airport.

  • Region:         LA-TX-AR--ID-MT-UT-AZ-NV-CO-NM-WY-Western TN

  • Number of Staff (direct): 10


Authority/ Decision Making

  • Purchasing decision and/or recommendations for company vehicles & equipment

  • Hiring decision for direct reports

  • Safety decisions and DOT regulations

  • Negotiating the release of company property



  • Travel required (50-75%)

  • Region spans 3 times zones

  • Dealing with uncooperative accounts

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • 3 – 5 years related experience

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment



  • 2+ years CHEP experience

  • 2 years’ experience managing a team


Skills and Knowledge

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of an organization, both internal and external.

  • Must have demonstrated success record of developing and leading cross-functional project teams that deliver cost savings.

  • Must have demonstrated success in negotiating skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and lead remote teams.

  • Must be willing to travel extensively and at times on short notice
